During Critique, improvements such as adjusting the text better to the grid and incorporating more pictures into the design. While redesigning the original design from spring, aspects such as color, imagery, and better use of grid and formatting text were incorporated into the final design. Overall the design demonstrates a use of a grid system, imagery that caters to the audience, and intrigue.
The Magazine Spread Reboot project explored different ways of designing a magazine layout using a grid system. The magazine assigned was “It’s Giving Season” about a non-profit organization that teaches K-12 students about gardening and supplying their own food. I wanted to experiment with a combination of illustration and imagery take make a compelling background for the text. The sunflower was tried with both color and black and white, but ultimately decided the black lines create more texture for the foreground
